Transfer news: Kenan Kodro joins Vidi

The Bosnian international forward arrives from the La Liga.

Kenan Kodro will continue his career with Vidi having most recently played in Spain.

Our new striker was born in Spain on the 19th August 1993, and his father, Meho Kodro, was a striker for Real Sociedad (who later played for FC Barcelona, among others).

Kenan himself learned his footballing basics at Sociedad, spending three seasons with Real B in the third division, before moving to Pamplona, where he scored 15 goals in 88 games for Osasuna and also made his La Liga debut! He then spent half a season in the Bundesliga with Mainz, and the Swiss top flight (Grasshoppers) as well as a spell with the Danish first division club FC Copenhagen, before moving to Athletic Bilbao - he spent the last half-season on loan at Real Valladolid. In La Liga he has scored 10 times in 62 league games.

Although he was born in Spain, the 27-year-old striker is of course a Bosnian national and made his national team debut in 2017 against Albania with a goal-scoring assist, netting two goals in nine appearances so far.

"Thank you very much for the warm welcome from the club. I am happy to continue my career in Székesfehérvár! My first impressions are very good at Vidi, I hope to have a successful time here! I've never been to Hungary before, but I've heard a lot about the country and the club from Armin Hodzic, for example. I also know Michael Lüftner, we played together in Copenhagen before. After talking to István Sallói, the sporting director, and Imre Szabics, the head coach, I felt they trusted me - which made my decision a lot easier. I know the expectations are high, but that's okay, I consider myself an ambitious footballer. I'm confident that I can help the team" - commented Kenan Kodro.

"We definitely wanted to add to our forward line, and Kenan comes from a high level league where very few footballers can reach. Of course, the main expectation is that he will contribute goals to the team. If I were to use an international example to illustrate his style of play, I would mention Alvaro Morata, staying with the Spanish line, because he is not a static forward, but a mobile, good striker who has given the coaching staff more options." - explained István Sallói following the latest arrival.

Kenan Kodro will wear the number 19 shirt for Vidi.
