Peter Zulj is the new player of MOL Fehérvár

The Austrian national team midfielder arrives in Fehérvár from Basaksehir from the Turkish top division.

Following an agreement between Basaksehir and Vidi, 11-times Austrian international Peter Zulj will continue his career at Vidi.

The 28-year-old, 185 cm tall midfielder was born in Wels, Austria. He was brought up in the youth teams of Salzburg, Linz and Rapid Wien and was the U17s' top scorer in the 2009/2010 season, making his senior debut at the age of 17 with Rapid's second team. He played for Grödig and Hartberg in the Austrian second division of the Erste Liga, before making his Austrian Bundesliga debut at the age of 20 for Wolfsberger AC, where he later played in a Europa League qualifier, and scored 7 goals and 5 assists in 46 league games.

He played eight Bundesliga games for FC Admira Wacker Mödling and 33 Austrian Bundesliga games for SV Ried, before moving to Sturm Graz in 2017. As a regular for his team, he scored 13 goals and 21 assists in 50 league games, played a major role in Sturm's 2018 Austrian Cup win and was named player of the year at the end of the season. He played in both the Champions League and Europa League qualifiers before joining Belgian side Anderlecht in the winter of 2018, where he played 38 top-flight matches. In 2021, he moved to the Turkish top flight, first with Göztepe and then Basaksehir, scoring 4 goals and assisting 2 in 23 league games.

"In midfield, we wanted to bring in a player with international experience who could be deployed immediately. I'm confident that Peter will settle in quickly and become a strength in the team. The fact that he has worked with Imre Szabics, our head coach at the Austrian national team and Sturm Graz, will also help him settle in." - said our Sport Director István Sallói about our new signing.

"I'm happy to join such a big club, I like the stadium from the very first day and I can see that the conditions are right for a professional job. I want to prove quickly that I will be a strength for Vidi, but as the team is always the most important thing for me, my primary goal is to be successful in the spring. I know Imre Szabics from Austria, but there will also be a familiar face among the team-mates, Makarenko and I played together at Anderlecht. The Hungarian championship is not unknown to me either. I know that Fehérvár is a club with big goals." - commented Peter Zulj.

The Austrian national team player arrives in Székesfehérvár on loan, our club has the option to buy the midfielder's playing rights in the summer.
